PASSWORD: http://beyondthenothingness.blogspot.comVictim were founded in 1993 by guitarist Andi Böhner and drummer Thorsten Fröhlich. Getting into the scene through bands like Sepultura, Deicide, Morbid Angel, but also Samael and that like, it was in the early days just about improving. As in beginning of 1997 the ways of singer Charly, bass player Ozzy and Victim parted and new singer Benjamin Jahn joined Victim, the music got harder and faster, everything went into a more Death Metal like direction to be exact, it turned into Death Metal all along the way. Due to musical differences, Thomas Appel left the band and got replaced by Marc Weberknecht Wolfshöfer, the bass part was done by Gero Langheim. In 1998 Victim released their first full length album Faces of Death, which was recorded in the rehearsal room with the mentioned constellation: Thorsten Fröhlich - (Drums) Andreas Böhner - (Guitars, Vocals) Marc Wolfshöfer - (Guitars) Gero Langheim - (Bass) Benjamin Jahn - (Vocals) Gero left the band right after this release and Victim continued and even performed on stage without a bass-player. In spite of this fact, the band wrote ten new songs and in 2000 the second album, Cocktail of brutality, was recorded in CZ and released through the band itself. Shortly after that, the by then, new bass player Andrea Tontsch joined the band. In 2001 Marc was replaced by Kostas Alogas, who is also the present guitarist. Because of the good response regarding gigs and the album, Eclipse Rec. released the first two CDs as a 2 in 1 style double album (later Eclipse Rec. ripped off Victim by almost 2000 $, so the time of getting the money for another record got longer and longer, but that`s a different story. Just keep it in mind when reading any offer from Hitoshi Nakahashi in your guestbook). At the end of 2003, the line-up changed for one more time: bass player Andrea left the band two months before singer Benni did. Just a few weeks later, the current singer Nadir Wibmer hopped in, and almost one year later, former day`s bass player Ozzy Mösch returned to complete the current line-up, which is thankfully not to be changed in the near future. Not only the band itself regards this period as the most creative in Victims musical history. Nadir Wibmer - (Vocals) Kostas Alogas - (Guitars) Andreas Böhner - (Guitars, Vocals) Christoph Mösch - (Bass) Thorsten Fröhlich - (Drums) With this line-up, Victim went into studio in early 2005 to record the third full length, which will be called Truth?. Compared to older stuff, this album got faster, more brutal and technical at once, combining the influences of different streams in Death Metal as well as of other kinds of extreme music in general. Recorded at Church Mastering Studios with Producer Uli Friedel, the CD will be released in September 2005 through Victim. Although this is about to succeed, the band is currently still in search for a label for upcoming works and looking forward to scene-wide response...Any kind of support is therefore highly welcome, appreciated and longed for. Keep in touch and keep it fucken brutal!
