Imagine... ...there to be a little forest in a parallel universe. Since there are strings to our reality this forest is not as common as forests should be. For the ones who dare dig in the mud may find such objects as shoes made of human skin, a human skull used for soccer, girls that have been raped, dead, hacked up (not necessarily in this order) and sometimes eaten, bodies that were deposited there instead cremated to save the money the burning wouldve cost, cut-off tongues and penises, kids hanged or buried alive in sand-boxes by their infant companions, rabid squirrels and so on. This forest is the breeding ground indicating the macabre tales that are written down in the book of the Embalming Theatre. But the roots grab far deeper down the earth. I found the bodies of Dave and Marco in the cryptic cellars of the Dynamo, Zurich, back in 1993. It was Dave who was set alight with the idea of forming a new band together with a drummer I knew and me, dead out cold as I was at the time of having a band of my own. So we dug up Maggots from the grounds and fed them to the fish, excuse me, to the fans. Maggots had definitely more Deathmetal injections than Embalming Theatre because we were all listening intently to that kind of stuff at the time. As the drummer split from us after the one and only gig Maggots was smashed and buried in a short ceremony and a small testimony of some audio tapes: Rehearsals, one demo and one live-tape. As the remains of Maggots turned to ashes I joined Daves other band, Aeternum and took over the stake, torturing my vocal chords. Some time later and after some folks given in and taken out again I skilled in the four-strings too. Time passed, funghi fruited in rotten bodies and we released one full length LP/CD and 2 7s with Aeternum. And then there was the idea of some new way of behaviour, more wild and insane, short but deadly attacks, to ground through bones, to saw through flesh and muscles and sinews, to mash up brains and guts. That was the day when EMBALMING THEATRE was torn from the womb to gain the twilight of those afore-mentioned woods and infest it. Since then a lot of tunes have been released, swarming the damp ground like maggots and infesting the decaying brains of those who dare to listen. Just to say some famous words for them who did take the wrong path and are about to get themselves lost in this forest of darkest tales about cannibals and murderers and other perversions: Abandon all hope, ye who enter here...
