After some gigs and with enough material, the band decides at the end of the year 2001 and beginning of 2002 get in the studio and concentrate in the recording of what would be the Melektaus's first production.
That´s how the band choose Sade Studios, with Juan Pablo Donoso in charge of the recording, mix and masterization of “Promo 2002”, with 3 brutal compositions:
Transcendence Through Ethereal Scourge
Ecstasy in Heru-Ra-Ha
The Primal Void of Nothigness
With a satisfactory result, the band begins with the process of free distribution of the promotional material, with the unconditional and disinterested aid of many friendly hands.
Melektaus begins to open a passage in the underground scene, participating in more and more gigs, promoting therefore the Promo 2002 and other new songs.
Due to serious irresponsibilities with the band, Francisco Cornejo is kicked out of the band, replaced by David Liempi (Thornafire). This way, Melektaus's line-up changes:
Rodolfo Sequeida: Guitar and vocals.
Alvaro Sequeida: Drums
Fernando Villalobos: Guitar
David Liempi: Bass
Melektaus's promotional disc, with a few months being distributed, it begins to generate numerous answers of the public as of the specializing press. Melektaus receives remarkable support not just in the local scene also in the internacional circuit
After a few months in the band and due to poor demonstrated commitment, David Liempi is replaced by Alejandro Lizana, injecting an extra dose of brutality and an incredible enthusiasm towards Melektaus, as also a lot of experience. Thats how the actual line up get form, with more strength than ever:
Rodolfo Sequeida: Guitar and vocals.
Alvaro Sequeida: Drums
Fernando Villalobos: Guitar
Alejandro Lizana: Bass
It is like that, that Melektaus begins to get famous abroad, receiving excellent critics of magazines as prestigious as Unholy Terror, and national extreme magazines like Noise And Shit and Grinder, between many others. Melektaus, with a name already known in the national underground scene and after many gigs in it’s history, receives the invitation to be part of the bands that would share stage with the Czechs Pandemia, leaving national death metal scene very in high place. Melektaus begins to negotiate with the national label RawForce for which it would be the awaited LP, but after unsuccessful agreements and for benefit of the band, it is decided to let pass this option. After a few months, Melektaus has the opportunity to open the show for Dark Funeral showing itself to the scene equal to equal with the legendary band and with a different public. Similarly, Melektaus destroys the ears of the crowd and again they work out successfully of that great show. In July, 2004, Melektaus begins the recording of the awaited LP "Transcendence Through Ethereal Scourge". In the year 2004, Melektaus receives new invitations to share stage with Gorgoroth (Norway), Funeratus (Brazil), Lobotomy (Argentina). Melektaus initiates conversations with diverse international labels. Finally the band chooses the spanish label Grotesque Music. On December 18th, 2004 Melektaus releases the awaited LP "Transcendence Through Ethereal Scourge" sharing stage with Behemoth from Poland. On May 26, 2005, Melektaus plays in Puerto Montt with the poles Vader, same year July 15th, Melektaus with a solid and brutal show open the concert for the northamerican band Deicide.
