SEVERE TORTURE started back in 1997. From the original line-up Thijs (guitar), Patrick (bass) and Seth (drums) are still present nowadays. In 1998 the band released a demo called "Baptized in Virginal Liquid". After that demo Dennis (vocals) joined the band and in 1999 they recorded a 2-track promo. The promo was released as 7" EP by Damnation Records and in 2000 the band finally signed a deal with Dutch label Fadeless Records. Fadeless Records then merged with Hammerheart Records and in the meantime the band did their first small tour through Europe with Damnation (pl). Finally it was time to record their debut album "Feasting on Blood" at Franky's Recording Kitchen and great cover artwork was designed by Joey Maloney. In January 2001 SEVERE TORTURE hit the European road as support act for Macabre and Broken Hope. In April 2001 SEVERE TORTURE played the Ohio Death Fest and a couple more U.S. shows to promote their debut album. Then in March 2002 the band recorded their second album "Misanthropic Carnage" (again at Franky's Recording Kitchen) and SEVERE TORTURE toured the U.S. for the second time as support for Deeds of Flesh and on top of that great festival appearances were made at Ohio Death Fest & New England Metal Fest. In October 2002 SEVERE TORTURE toured Europe again as support for Cannibal Corpse and during this tour the band met Marvin who joined the band on guitar and from that point they continued as a 5-piece. After a lot of canceled tours SEVERE TORTURE decided that it was time to move on to a new label and as a farewell Karmageddon Media released a killer live album recorded by Tue Madsen (The Haunted) with cool additional bonus material. A new deal was signed with EARACHE RECORDS and the new album "Fall of the Despised" was released Autumn 2005. May 2006 was the 3rd time SEVERE TORTURE brought their music to the U.S. with an appearance at the Maryland Deathfest. Summer past by with appearances at Kaltenbach Open Air (AT), Brutal Assault (CZ) & Party San Open Air (DE) and still overwelmed by those festivals SEVERE TORTURE started preparing to hit the road with Vader & God Dethroned for a 6-week trek throughout Europe Sept/Okt/Nov 2006. November 12 2007 Severe Torture will release their highly anticipated new record: Sworn Vengeance!
