Splattered Mermaids was formed in March 2005 by drummer Martin Schonherr (also singing in Deranged) and Johan Bergstrom. After some months, Johan Hallberg, joined on guitar. The band recorded their first demo, "Bloodfreak", in June 2005 and played live shows with bands like Deranged, Arsonist and Skurk666. In February 2006, Inner Voice records (a small swedish label) released the "Creation of wounds" EP. The CD got great feedback and the band played support to bands like Paul Díanno and Mustasch. In March 2006 the band completed the line-up with bassplayer Martin Eklov (also session bass player in Visceral bleeding). Splattered mermaids toured in Czech Republic in June 2006 and played shows with bands like Pigsty, Holocausto canibal, Mincing fury, Cerebral turbulency, Smashed face, Parricide and many others... the tour was great and the band returned to Czech in summer 2007 and played some crazy shows... Splattered mermaids is currently writing new songs for their next album, to be released sometime in 2008. Expect a more mature, technical and brutal sound. Splattered mermaids - intense/groovy death metal with modern metal influences, you could never expect anything else than a broken neck...
