Stabwound was founded by Ante in late 2000 with former bassist Freddy. Ante met Oskar, our former drummer, while at work. The three of them started to rehearse and write some songs. In the end of summer 2001, Ante and Per met through a common friend. Per tried out for the band and it worked amazingly well. "We started to write some more songs, and 5 months later we played our first gig in Gothenburg together with Spawn Of Possession and Imperious (ex-Obscura). In May we released our first demo called "Malicious Addiction" which got great reviews everywhere." A couple of weeks later, Oskar decided to leave the band. Viktor, a longtime friend of Per, was called in to fill the empty spot. With Viktor behind the drums, they where able to write more brutal and technical songs. His skills were really needed for the band to move forward. During the writing of the second demo, Per met Uffe on a metal community, and the line-up was complete. In the middle of the recording, Freddy decided to leave the band. The basslines were recorded by Per. After the release of the 'Bloodsoaked Serenades' MCD Fredrik, a friend of the band, was instantly called in as the new permanent bass player for Stabwound. One week later the band did their first gig with the new line-up. The Bloodsoaked Serenades demo received great reviews everywhere which led to many labels interested in signing Stabwound. In February, the Italian label - The Flood Records, contacted Stabwound and wanted to re-release Bloodsoaked Serenades as a MCD with some bonus material which was released in summer 2003. In the spring of 2003 Stabwound was contacted by US label - Brutal Bands, who signed the band and released their only full-length album 'Human Boundaries'. The band split up in 2005.
