Dead For Days was founded by Kevin Schenk (bassist), Rick Hernandez (drummer) former guitarist of Euphoric Evisceration, Zack Smolenski (guitarist), and Jeff Petty a.k.a Potty (vocalist) in the spring of 2000. All reside in the Chicago-land area. Through 2001, Dead For Days tried to fill a second guitar position but had never found the right person. During the 2001 year, the band had played throughout Chicago's Brutal Death Metal Scene until Kevin Schenk had passed away in December of 2001. The band had to face a hard decision whether to continue Kevin's concepts or to break up. To further the bands love for extreme music and to avoid splitting up the group's chemistry, they now had to find a bassist to fill Kevin's position. Manny Canchola who had played in a previous band w/ Kevin (Asmodeus) joined the band. Unfortunately, Manny had left because of musical differences a year later. Finally, Jason Quiram had filled the position permanently. In October of 2002, Dead For Days was signed to United Guttural Records with the likes of Waco Jesus, Screaming Afterbirth, Putrid Pile, and other brutal bands. Since then Dead For Days has played with the likes of Mortician, Malevolent Creation, Fleshgrind, Gorgasm, Disinter, etc. In 2003, Dead For Days had found a 2nd guitarist to fill the position in the form of Matt Garrett, formerly of Disordered from Utah. With the lineup complete the band released their debut album "Creating Murderous Domain" through United Guttural Records. Recently vocalist Potty has left the band leaving vocals duties to Matt Garrett. The band are writing music for their follow up album soon to be released!
