The band was founded by guitarist Istvan Matola in 1996. In the early times, apart from our own songs, we experimented with Morgoth, Amorphis, Deicide, Carcass cover-songs. In the fall of 1996 we recorded our first demo entitled GRINDING, trying to find any concert opportunities. It caught us by surprise that how many people actually liked this material, because it was recorded under hideous circumstances and you could hear that for sure! We made our first appearances at these times with modest succes. In 1997 we had more serious concert opportunities, for example Fehérvári Zenei Napok (Fehervar Days of Music) and smaller death festivals. In the middle of '97 those songs were made that we recorded only in May of '98 under the title VILIFICATION. This was the band's first studio recording which was facilitated by Lojzi Németh at the Bikini Studio (in 16 hours including mastering!) Vilification proved successful in death/grind underground (there are incoming orders for this material even to these days), nearly 300 copies have been sold so far. At the end of the year the band slimmed down to 4 members due to founding member István Matola's leaving the band.We stopped using the name Genocide from that moment on. We started using the name GUTTED during our preparations for the first compilation record of Shock! rockmagazine. The inherent financial and rehearsal problems reached their pinnacle at this time! Our songs for the compilation CD was recorded practically without rehearsal. And this had an effect on the final material city of Szolnok unfortunately not with Töfi. This song was called "A man drawn around me" and in a surprising way the reviews were positive. Problems with a rehearsal place were still present, so we tried to grip anything we could (places, rooms of girlfriends, workshops, garages...)Finally, in 2000 we found a place that seemed to be stable. In this year we signed up for the Denever Talent Festival, where we came in second and Zsolti got the grand prize for being best drummer... a whole lotta nothing, because the sponsor ran off. For coming in 2nd we were granted 60 hours of studiotime, of which we used up around 80 in the same year (ha-ha-ha). Good atmosphere (+Töfi) and the rehearsals brought good results, a promotion CS of very good quality. (And another CD with 20 songs on it, about which Töfi doesn't even know because we made it at night... we'll show it to him some time:))) The promo material was mastered at the Pont-Mi Studio in Székesfehérvár by Gabor Fekete. The promo CD with 4 songs on it was sent to labels and a few magazines. The critiques surpassed all expectations, though the record labels rather expected a full album for an introduction. Negotiations started with Japan's Eclipse Records around the end of the year, and after convining them to support the recording, we quickly wrote another song to have at least 30 minutes of music. (In spite of this we recorded such a quick album that it hardly last 28 minutes...)The album called DEFILED was recorded in the spring of 2001 at the Pont-Mi studio of course with Gábor Fekete. This time we made the mastring at the HSB studio with Regi. The drawings on the album cover were made by Tamás Rézmann... it rocks! Translations are made by Zoltan Nep to whom we owe some favors and a couple of beers. We are currently working on our 2nd album. After releasing our first cd “Defiled” we played some gigs in foreign countries like Czech Republic, Germany and Serbia – Montenegro. At the beginning of 2003 Krisztián decided to left the band so we went on 3 members only. We have had several months with no rehearsals but we didn’t have to wait for so long and we found 2 excellent guitarists – Gábor Drótos, András Horváth - from the neighborhood city Várpalota. With their joining – in the spring of 2004 - we started to write new material for our upcoming album and played unforgettable gigs in Hungary as a special guests for Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, Krisiun, Vader, Disgorge and Sanatorium. In the same year we played on the famous Obscene Extreme Festival in Czech Republic with bands like General Surgery, Wasteform, Brodequin etc... The DVD of this Festival - which was released through Obscene Productions at the summer of 2005 - features the “ A Man Drawn Around Me ’’ from the first cd!At the end of 2004 we decided to change our label and we moved to Nice To Eat You Records from Czech Republic for our upcoming release.“ Human Race Deserves To Die” was released through this label at the March of 2005 worldwide.Right after its release we made a 2 weeks long European Tour with Wasteform from New York. The tour was a great success for the band : 100 or more people on every single gigs during this tour. Following countries were destroyed by Gutted on this tour : Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia – Montenegro, Italy and Switzerland. At the August of 2005 we played on the Czech Brutal Assault Festival with bands like Obituary, Krisiun, Necrophagist, My Dying Bride etc... The compilation cd of this Festival features the “ Manifestation Of Concealed Hate ’’ from the 2nd full – length! In these days the “ Voices of Styx “ compilation cd is released through a Hungarian underground label named Terranis Productions and it has the “ Dreadful Stories From The Past “ on it from Gutted. Now we are currently working on our third cd...
